Finding My Right Target Audience for Success on Social Media: Micro-Niche

What is your niche? If you aren’t sure, this post is for you.

Having a niche in mind will help you stay on target for your business and focus on helping a certain community. I want you to start imagining who you are currently reaching in your audience, and who you are wanting to reach as your audience. Whether you are a blogger, Instagram social media influencer, or small business owner, a target audience is a top must for finding success on social media.

Let me paint a picture for you. If your niche is makeup, you will want to connect with others and solve a problem. Maybe you make posts for beginners in makeup, the makeup brushes you recommend for just starting out, a makeup routine tutorial, or makeup dupes for high-end products. You get the idea, right?

Now let’s take it one step further. Maybe your niche is makeup, but your micro-niche is helping stay-at-home moms feel beautiful with easy 5-minute makeup. THAT is a lot more targeted and impactful to that audience, isn’t it?

Micro-niche is a scaled-down version of a community to exactly hit your target audience. Once you know the audience you want to help, reaching them will be a lot less of a scramble! You can now connect with moms that are maybe new moms or have been a stay-at-home mom for years. Maybe she is struggling to find the time to get ready, or struggling with the confidence to do so. That is where YOU come in and solve a problem.

If you want sales, you have to first connect and have a community. Think about it this way, if you don’t have a community, who are you connecting with and making sales?

Let’s even go beyond sales. Say you are a blogger and you love to share recipes. There are millions of food blogs out there, so finding a micro-niche will heavily target the right people! You can utilize focus keywords targeting maybe dinners for 2, or crockpot recipes. Social media has exponential potential, but you want to ensure to get in front of your target audience.

If you are up for some homework, go to your Instagram bio and give it a good audit. Can your audience tell who you are, what you do, and how you can impact them?

Here is a quick look at mine, it has a quick about me, what I do, and how I can help others! Experiment with this area, because this is often the FIRST place your audience is reading. You have maybe 6 seconds to make an impact, so this is a prime opportunity to make those seconds count. You got this! Also if you feel comfortable, comment your social media below so we can take a look and see if there is anything you could do to enhance reaching your target audience!
