How Do I Get My Instagram Feed to Look Consistent?

The world of social media has evolved from picture perfect stage photos to more real and raw candid shots. Which I am LIVING FOR! However, a consistent feed is still aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I am going to show you my tricks on how you can get your Instagram photos to look consistent!

Whether you are using Instagram as your main platform for social media, or as a secondary to reach more of your audience, it is important to keep in mind for your branding. This could be as simple as the colors or as advanced as the same template for your images.

I want you to first think of the look you want for your Instagram. For example, in my feed, I like to have warmer tones and pink/peach colors incorporated.

My biggest secret to having the same look? Presets. Presets are saved editing settings that you can copy and paste on to any of your photos! I utilize Lightroom Mobile (free app!) and have loved finding the right preset for me. You can find presets online for free, or for fairly cheap. I personally use Lou + Marks currently, and I love the bright and airy look it gives my photos.

New to presets? No worries, it can be a learning curve! I suggest finding a preset package that comes with instructions so you can easily download them and save them in your Lightroom. You can also find youtube step-by-step tutorials!

My other recommendation for Instagram consistency, is to tell a story at all times over the span of 6 images.

I challenge you to do frequent “audits” on your page. Look at it from an outsider’s perspective and ask yourself: “In the first 6 images, can I tell what this person is all about and what they have to offer?” With Instagram, you never know what image is going to grace your follower’s feed. So, you need to ensure every single one of your photos represents your brand and what you want your follower to gain from you.

So if you find your last 6 images to be all product-focused, or all about you, strategize how you should plan out your content to ensure there is a balance there! Here is an example of how I can look at my feed in an analytical way, to see what I need to add next.
