20 Minute Breakfast Recipe: Sausage and Cream Cheese

I am not the kind of person who can just have cereal for breakfast. I have to eat something savory and filling, so when my mom shared this breakfast with me I was hooked! What I really love about this recipe, is that it only takes about 20 minutes to make. I hope you enjoy this recipe and try it for yourself and your family.

The ingredient list is pretty short and simple, and usually, things I have on hand anyways which is always a help.

Sausage

Cream Cheese (8 oz, half a block)

Cheddar Cheese

Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

I told you it was short! This is my “I’m feeling fun enough to cook, but also lazy” recipe that your family will devour and didn’t take much effort. Those are pretty much the best kinds of meals, right?

I know it may sound weird to cook with cream cheese, but I promise you the flavors are incredible when combined.

Let’s get to putting it all together.

20-Minute Breakfast Recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to your crescent rolls directions (usually 375 degrees).
  2. Brown your sausage and drain out the grease.
  3. Combine half a block of cream cheese and 1 cup of cheddar cheese with your sausage until the cream cheese has melted and incorporated.
  4. On a cookie sheet, prepare your crescent rolls by unrolling them out to lay flat.
  5. Spoon the sausage mixture onto the wider side of the crescent roll.
  6. With your hands on both edges of the wider side, tuck and roll up your crescent roll tightly to keep the sausage mixture inside.
  7. Spread out your rolls evenly on the cookie sheet and bake following your crescent roll directions (I do about 12 minutes).
  8. Use a spatula to serve. You can eat with your hands or cut it up and use a fork.

20-minute breakfast recipe done! The combination of the sausage, cream cheese, and cheddar is so delicious and also very filling. These are also great to use as leftovers, although I recommend reheating in the oven instead of the microwave to keep the rolls nice and flaky. It can typically feed 4 people, so if you have more in your family or want to make a larger batch, you can use the entire cream cheese block to make more filling, and 2 packages of crescent rolls.

If you plan to go on vacation this summer and want to make a yummy breakfast for your family and friends, this quick breakfast has been a hit! It doesn’t require a lot of dishes or ingredients, which is always nice if you are short on supplies.
