Getting my duster out for this blog of mine that has collected a few cobwebs I’m sure.
In the past few years, I’ve read a few of my favorite bloggers share about how they are throwing in their hat or are becoming overwhelmed with the “blogging image”. I thought to myself: how could anyone ever feel that way? I’ll never be caught up in that world.
Yet, it happened.
I have neglecting me time for blogging deadlines, got stressed over needing to get the right angle, and most importantly I took the fun out of blogging.
Making money off the Internet is pretty cool, and still amazes me that it a possible source of income. But when it started to become less of a hobby, that’s when I realized I need to go back to the basics.
My blog was built to give me a creative outlet and share my family’s life. I feel so grateful I took out those few minutes to write down about our wedding, my religious journey, our birth story… these are moments I cherish and I’m so glad I wrote down all the details I would have otherwise forgotten.
I hope this doesn’t come off as ungrateful to you readers. But majority of you I consider friends (if not my family), and want you to know what is going on in my actual life, and not just the highlights. I plan to continue blogging, but for me not for companies. I love to share about all the corners of my life and will continue to share products I love, but I think I can do that without making a quick buck off of it.
So if you are a reader, I hope you enjoy reading more about my life, Military wife advice, projects I make, and less sponsored or advertisement placed posts. I am so grateful for all of you who click my blog and enjoy reading what I jot down! It allows this stay at home mama to not lose my mind most days, and I am sure a lot of you can relate to that. Ha ha!
I’ll still be sharing companies and products that have chosen to collaborate with me, but it won’t be for profit. There are so many wonderful small shops that I know can’t afford the big fees most bloggers nowadays through out, and I want to focus more on authentic relationships with them.
Here is to more family, and less monetization.
