All jokes aside, within the military community there seems to be a natural sense of competition. Between spouses, branches, and even within companies.
Military Police hear about how they are super uptight and have a useless job.
Infantry is nothing but grunts and doesn’t take any real skills.
Aviation is most definitely entitled and spoiled soldiers, who never get dirty.
Did any of these strike a nerve? Or remind you of a stereotype someone assumed about you or your spouse in the military?
We all hear jokes and playful banter among the military jobs out there, but some people genuinely think they are better because of what their career is.
These men and women fight for our country everyday, and believe it or not all of their jobs are important. They all serve a purpose and work as a giant unit.
It’s so great to hear spouses proud of their service members. What’s not great is to hear them belittling other’s because they don’t see that job being as important. If you happen to be one of these people, listen up. That is someone’s husband, father, wife, mother, son, daughter. They have extreme pride because that person decided to sign their life away to serve our country. Who cares if they are in aviation, a smaller aircraft, a stateside MOS, or even serving as a guard/reserve unit.
That person is serving in our Military and deserves your respect. I hope this post do`1esn’t come off condescending or angry, but I am just so thankful for all of the men and women who lay down their lives for us. I am forever thankful to our Military, no matter what numbers and letters make up their MOS.
This isn’t a competition, but a camaraderie. I would love to hear down below that your spouse does in the Military! Let’s make this a friendly conversation and not a rivalry!
