This isn’t a thank us for our service day, but a day to honor all of the military spouses that often go unnoticed.
Appreciate the spouses who left their life to move to a new state, and sometimes country.
The spouse who gave birth to their precious baby alone.
The spouse who has to put on a smile when the deployment homecoming date changes, again, because either way it means they are coming home soon.
The spouse that spent long hours washing, pressing, and packing uniforms and gear knowing that it means you will be leaving again.
Military spouses are strong, resilient, adaptable, and courageous.
Maybe you’ve noticed a change in yourself recently, or maybe this lifestyle has slowly embedded into your everyday and feels normal. No matter how long you have been a spouse to a military service member, I have one thing to say to you.
I appreciate you.
I appreciate that through all the chaos, sleepless nights, having to learn new skills, lonely moments: you never once asked for compliments, you were just doing your job. You are appreciated.
I am proud to be a military spouse and to know so many other spouses who inspire me everyday. Think about a military spouse in your life and how you can appreciate them today!
Say a quick prayer for them, pray for strength and patience.
Take a load off them and watch the kids or help with someone around the house.
Tell them you appreciate them.
It would mean more to them than you know!
