Update + Hike with the Hubby

Wow! Has it really been almost a month since my last blog post? Guess I need to do a little update. James had AT for two weeks and during that time I went down to Texas! I had a great time with all of my family and my friends, I’m surprised I was able to get in a visit with almost everyone. I have awful anxiety in airports, but this time around I did a lot better.
James was able to drop me off and he got a gate pass; which allowed him to sit and wait with me at my gate. I am very grateful I have him to help me through that! Anyhow, I was able to attend my little sister’s dance recital, my friend’s high school graduation, and I even got pictures done in my wedding dress! It was a very eventful ten days and I cannot wait to go back in July, this time James will finally be able to as well. Now we are both back home, he is still working hard in school and working at the school. As for me, I am sitting at home trying to find a good summer job that I would be good at and allows me to take off for my trips to Texas this summer.

Yesterday, I was just feeling blue. James went back into work and I was all alone and just feeling a bit antsy. So, James surprised me and came home early, telling me to put on my running shoes. I was a bit confused, but I obliged. He packed my backpack I take with me for walking and grabbed my camera bag. (Bring on more confusion!) He drove us up through the canyon that led to a walking trail on the side of the mountain. I was absolutely mesmerized by the beauty of nature and by the wonderful man who spoils me so! We walked along the creek and then walked up the trail, and you better bet I took some amazing pictures! I feel so blessed to have a man who took off work just to make me feel better. Those moments of us just walking, holding hands, and talking will forever remind me of how lucky I am. During our talk we discussed our futures, but mainly discussed religion. No, I am not converting to LDS just yet, but I want to learn more of the lessons and I’m becoming more and more interested in converting. I know it seems crazy, but just talking about Mormonism, somehow instantly made me feel happiness. I don’t know what it was, maybe being amongst the beautiful nature God created, or just speaking about his word; I felt so much closer to our Lord. When we got home, James grabbed his old binders from his Missionary days. He read some of the verses to me and all I could do was look at him in awe. Not only did God give me this wonderful man, but he gave me a man who could relay His words and message with such truth. While I feel ready to dive into the LDS religion and beliefs, I’m still fearful of what other’s will think. At the same time, it seems silly to be afraid to fall in love with a religion because of the fear of others, because religion is such a personal thing. It is between you and the Lord, not between you and your peers. I don’t mean to make this into a religious spiel, I just want to share my journey with you guys and will conclude with some pictures. See ya’ll next blog post, hopefully it won’t be too long of a wait!
