Happy Sunday everyone! And happy father’s day to all the men out there. We have had an amazing weekend so far. I have held off on sharing pictures of our new home because it’s been a work in progress. This week we had our new couches delivered (thank goodness for American Furniture Warehouse!) and our living room is coming together. Yesterday we picked up a new duvet cover and decided to stop living like college students. ha ha I’m serious y’all, we haven’t had an adult set up in SO long.
Our next major project will be replacing the carpets, because the owners before us had terrible taste and weren’t the cleanest. It’s been kind of challenging I think, because even though this is our second home we have owned, none of the places we have lived feel quite like ours. I don’t know if that makes sense or not, but it just feels like we are living in someone else’s place. I guess where I am getting with all of this, is we are slowly getting the hang of things and back to normal.
That goes with every aspect of my life. I recently started back to working at my old job, but now it is an evening shift. It has been an amazing two months and I feel like now I’ve developed a good routine of taking care of baby and doing my work. I missed working and talking to adults on a regular basis. It kind of feels like I never left in some ways, and I am so grateful they asked me to come back and could work out a new schedule for me! With working again, I am on video calls a few times a week, forcing me to be human and put on clothes and makeup ha ha. I am seriously grateful for it, because after having her I got in a slump and rarely got dressed. I love dressing up and am makeup obsessed, so it feels good to be back at it!
I have been slowly reinventing my style and trying to dress more like a mom and twenty two year old, and less like I just left high school. I also am adjusting to dressing for my new figure and trying to stay in a confident state of mind. Thank heavens for peplum tops that are forgiving and can hide that mom pooch. (I keep telling myself THIS will be the week I start working out!) I snagged this peplum top at the DI a few years ago, and my sweet niece in law gifted me this Shelley Bee Originals skirt. I wore it while pregnant, but it also fits amazing postpartum!
Today was the first day I wore heels since having her, and I think I managed okay! ha I love wedges because they are pretty easy to walk in, and they are so darn cute. I had the hubby snap these photos after church, and of course I can never have a photo without someone photo bombing! Our cat had to see what was going on ha ha. Thank you all for bearing with me as I have been adjusting to everything. I love this little blog of mine and I’m thank to have a place to share my thoughts and feelings, and of course connect with y’all.
