Pregnancy Survival Guide

I didn’t think my life would change too drastically while pregnant… Boy was I wrong! I have noticed a lot of changes going on, and it’s not just this growing belly. I have found some pregnancy essentials that are key to surviving these 9 months of this new life.

This is the best oil ever. I rub this on my belly and anywhere I think (and now have) stretch marks would appear. We bought this while on our cruise when I was just 6 weeks along and was told it was great for stretch marks and during the prenatal period. This is a part of my night routine now and I feel like it’s helped big time in preventing stretch marks.

Another must have oil! Even with summer upon us, my skin has been very dry and coconut oil has been a great rejuvenator. I take about a scoopful and lotion it into my legs and arms to hydrate them. Also, I am totally missing out on that shiny hair during pregnancy myth so I apply this to my ends right before my shower and then wash as usual. 

If you are struggling with finding good prenatal vitamins, I highly recommend these! I tried some given to me by my doctor, and also bought these giant capsule ones that were impossible to swallow. I was kind of leery switching over to gummies, but I found these had a lot of nutrients packed in them and made me feel better. The flavor of these are super tolerable and almost yummy ha! 

Two words: pregnancy. pants. I’ll admit caving and purchasing pregnancy shorts was hard at first but once I slipped them on they were life changing! No more were the days of tight pants and lines on my sides. My sweet friend recently gave me her maternity jeans, which couldn’t have come at a better time because my leggings no longer fit me and I’ve been stuck in my few pairs of maternity shorts. If you are on the fence and growing out of your pants, take the leap and invest in a few maternity bottoms!

Something I keep forgetting to mention in my pregnancy updates, is how I’ve been experiencing heartburn. I had been feeling a really bad burning sensation in the back of my throat which I did not know was heartburn! I have been experiencing it since around 22 weeks and was advised by other mamas to get tums. These work so quickly and have been a purse essential for me because of how frequently heartburn comes up. If you want to hear more pregnancy updates, I just uploaded my 26 week video!
