Allure shared recently that red hair is the new color trend for 2022, so I know I wasn’t alone in going to the red side. I’ve been all hair colors: brown, black, blonde, balayage… But something about red just revived my style and look! I knew I would like it but I wasn’t truly expecting to love it this much. I just feel like it’s “me”.
When I switched to red, however, that meant my hair extensions were definitely not going to work. I feel so fortunate that I work with Donna Bella Hair and had the opportunity to really try out new hair this year! I tried hybrid weft extensions and clip-ins, and more recently LOVE the halo extensions.
What are halo extensions?
A halo extension is different from clip-ins because instead of coming in multiple pieces to clip in, it is on one track and has a clear headband that rests on your crown while the hair extension goes under the top layer of your hair. It helps make it look seamless while really adding the volume and length I’m looking for.
I absolutely love my hair, and I love having the option to add an extension for when I want to spice it up even more.

Braided Crown Hairstyle
Grab the front sections of your hair, including a bit of the extension to help blend, and begin braiding until you can reach the back of your head. Do this to both sides and use a bobby pin to secure. To add even more to this hairstyle, include a velvet bow!
3 Braid Hairstyle for Red Hair
Taking from the previous hairstyle, braid the rest of your hair! I know– I said this was simple. But hair extensions give SO much volume that a simple braid looks so full and like you put a lot more effort into it than you really did. I feel like braid hairstyles really shine with red hair.
Oversized Scrunchie
I received this oversized scrunchie from Donna Bella and it quickly became my new go-to hairstyle with red hair! I love the contrast of the black scrunchie against my red hair. I feel like since going red, I have experimented a lot more with black, green, and orange which really make the red pop. I curled my hair with simple, loose waves (Donna Bella also has a curling iron that is incredible!) to make it look elegant but effortless.
I usually just wear my hair down, but I love to do simple hairstyles every now and then too! With going red, it can be hard to make sure you have extensions that match correctly.
