Finding Your Mom Style: Dresses

The “Mom uniform” varies drastically from Mom to Mom, from leggings, to business suits, to dresses… every mom finds her flow. For me, finding my mom style was a bit more of a challenge because all of my closet had been either high school clothes or maternity. So after having Sav, I was stuck in that awkward phase of having nothing to wear because nothing fit the same anymore! Also, I was now a mom and I already get enough comments on how young I look; the teen wardrobe wasn’t helping. With Shop Pink Blush I have slowly been transitioning my closet to more modern and mom appropriate! I’ve been purging my closet and getting rid of a lot, so having cute staple pieces are super important.

When it came to dresses, some elements were very important to me, so having a list made it easier to shop and not get overwhelmed. – Length (I’m leaning over a lot and crouching down, I don’t want something too short or too long!)- Versatility (having a good staple dress that I can dress up or down, or throw a cardigan on over was essential!)- Pockets (HELLO! Dresses with pockets are a gift. I can store a spare pacifier, my phone, and a burp cloth in there!) – Color (something dark is my go to, it hides a lot more messes!)- Comfort (probably should be number one on my list, but I want to be comfortable in what I’m wearing!) – Functionality (I’m exclusively breast pumping every four hours… I need something easy to pull up or down. This can also be applicable if you’re breastfeeding!)This dress is perfect for my needs and checks all the boxes! It’s super flowy so it’s easy to move around and play on the floor with my baby. But it’s also comfy enough for a mid day nap, going for a walk, and doing housework. I prefer to wear dresses but often find they are too tight and constructing, so this dress wins major points with me! And did I mention it has pockets?! You guys, you can’t get much better than this. An extra bonus, it has buttons all the way down making breastfeeding (or pumping in my case) a breeze. I am glad to slowly be building my closet into the perfect wardrobe for the new me that meets all my needs as a new mom.
